Where mist still clings to ancient stone,
And fynbos breathes the morning dew,
The mountains rise to greet the sun —
A world made fresh, made whole, made new.
I walk the ridge at break of day,
My boots still dark with evening rain,
And in the silence find the words
That leather, honey, cannot name.
